The Common Ground Research Network, in proud collaboration with the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Curaçao Tourism Board, is delighted to host the 10th International Conference on Tourism & Leisure Studies.

This landmark event will take place on the picturesque island of Curaçao, at the campus of the University of Curaçao — an inspiring setting for global dialogue on the future of tourism.

The 2025 conference theme, “Hospitality the Caribbean Way: Global Lessons from Local Experiences”, invites participants to explore the unique practices, challenges, and innovations shaping tourism in the Caribbean and beyond.

A featured highlight will be a special panel on “Carrying Capacity,” showcasing case studies from across the region. These sessions will provide actionable insights into managing tourism growth in ways that respect local communities, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

Complementing the academic discussions, guided site visits to key local attractions will offer participants a firsthand perspective on how Curaçao navigates the balance between welcoming visitors and ensuring sustainable development.

Join us for a dynamic and immersive experience at the intersection of research, policy, and practice in tourism and leisure.
