Leendert Pengel
Leendert Pengel is een alumnus van de UoC uit 1986, die daarna aan de TUe in 1992 is afgestudeerd in afstudeerrichting Informatietechniek, 6 jaar heeft gewerkt bij een lokaal ICT-bedrijf, en daarna bij de UoC is gestart als manager van de ICT-afdeling. Sinds augustus 2016 is hij manager van het Center for Digital Learning op de UoC. Zijn belangstelling is altijd uit gegaan naar het onderwijs en het overdragen van kennis. Hij heeft aan het begin gestaan van de ontwikkelingen van het aanbieden van onderwijs op afstand door de UoC, eerst door inzet van Skype, daarna met de professioneler inzet van Blackboard Collaborate, waardoor studenten op Aruba, Bonaire en Sint Maarten vanuit Curaçao van onderwijs voorzien konden worden. De vele ontwikkelingen op het gebied van onderwijs ondersteund met technologie en in het bijzonder met ICT, en de behoefte aan deze kennis bij vele docenten en leerkrachten, zijn zijn “drive” geweest om de overstap te maken van ICT naar een meer onderwijsgerelateerde functie binnen de nieuw opgezette afdeling Center for Digital Learning.

Sarah Volders
Mijn naam is Sarah Volders. Ik ben geboren en getogen in Nederland maar woon nu alweer 14 jaar in Curaçao. Ik ben leerkracht en instructional designer. Ik heb meer dan 12 jaar voor de klas gestaan in Nederland en Curaçao (van kleutergroep tot middelbare school) en heb daarnaast mijn masters in Instructional Design en Technology (IDT) in de VS gehaald. Tegenwoordig ontwikkel ik binnen mijn eigen bedrijf, SimplicID, trainingen op maat voor alle bedrijfstakken, waaronder het onderwijs. Behalve het ontwerpen van trainingen, geef ik ook workshops en trainingen, zowel face-to-face als online. Johan Oldenboom
Johan Oldenboom (37) is a sociologist, specialized in urban sociology – security and criminology. Johan is also a part-time journalist specialized in human interest issues. From 2002 till 2015 he lived and studied in Holland. Since 2015 Johan is living in Curaçao. In Holland Johan worked as a journalist, as a project coordinator and as a policy advisor. He worked for the municipality of Rotterdam and The Hague and for the police department in Rotterdam.
Since 2015 Johan has been a lecturer and member of the academic staff of the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez, the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Furthermore Johan is socially active in several organizations. As a sociologist and lecturer, Johan believes in an education system that makes people conscious about their own potentials. An education system that empowers.
Kathy Taylor
Kathy Taylor is Professor Emerita of Spanish Literature and Linguistics of Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana and is also a musician and writer. She began her work with Papiamentu in 2001 and taught the language at Earlham College until 2015, often bringing students to Curacao. Although she has been retired since 2016, she continues her passion for languages and is currently working with Yunette Aniceta on reconstructing and improving a free online self-taught course she had developed for English speakers and Spanish speakers to learn Papiamentu.
Ace Suares
Suares & Co NV focuses on Software Solutions for Schools and Non-Profit organizations, and tries to find cheap and to-the-point solutions that are tailored to budget and necessity. Suares & Co regularly gives lectures and organizes conferences such as the Open Source Seminar (2004 & 2008), the Open Source and Education Seminar (2006), and the UNESCO funded ICT & Education Conference Curaçao (2013). Suares & Co reorganized the IT department of the public schools in 2014 and was appointed as Program Manager for the Digitalization of Education (F.O. and S.O) in 2015/2016. Suares & Co made the first open source spellchecker for Papiamentu, and produced open source software for digital education, such as SAZON (method for art education in HAVO/VWO), Big Books for Monuments and Digital Books for SIFMA. Suares & Co organizes projects for STEM education such as Nos Ta Konektá and Luna di STIMA. Suares & Co has a strong focus on Open Source Software, because it lowers the cost of IT in education.
Aad van der Drift
Leraar Informatica, Aardrijkskunde en Maatschappijleer aan het Harens Lyceum.
Secretaris vakvereniging i&i (digitale geletterdheid en informatica). Aad staat 35 jaar voor de klas en is al die tijd betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van ICT in het onderwijs. Jarenlang stond ICT ontwikkeling op scholen voorop, de laatste 10 jaar richt hij zich vooral op de ontwikkeling van digitale geletterdheid en informatica.
Samen met Ramon Moorlag (voorzitter vakvereniging i&i), heeft hij de Nederlandse vakvereniging veranderd in een vakvereniging voor docenten die lesgeven in digitale geletterdheid en/of informatica op hun school. De vakvereniging i&i speelt inmiddels een belangrijke rol in de ontwikkeling van het Nederlandse onderwijs..
Yunette Aniceta
Yunette rond de opleidingen Bachelor Bestuurlijke Informatiekunde en Techno MBA af bij de UoC, en verzorgt al meer dan 25 jaar ICT-gerelateerde colleges. Als manager van het bedrijf Information Solutions ontwikkelt zij database- applicaties en verzorgt gepersonaliseerde IT-cursussen voor bedrijven. Ze leidt verschillende digitaliseringsprojecten en zet op een digitale bibliotheek voor de UoC (http://DCDP.uoc.cw) en CBS (http://digitallibrary.cbs.cw). Momenteel verzorgt zij modules voor het ontwikkelen van krachtige digitale (blended) leeromgevingen, en leidt zij een pilot project bij de AF (gefinancierd door het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied), om op structurele wijze lokaal digitaal lesmateriaal op alle onderwijsniveaus van de eilanden te verzamelen/ontwikkelen (volgens de leerlijnen), en beschikbaar te stellen in een gebruikersvriendelijke digitale bibliotheek. Als IT consultant bij UoC en de SKAIH stimuleert zij het gebruik van elektronische leeromgevingen en Blended/Distance Learning.
Sygline Scheper
Sygline heeft 40 jaar ervaring als leerkracht, MT Funderend Onderwijs, Remedial Teacher, Coördinator Learning Circle, Coördinator ICT , Media Coach, trainer DRO-C, trainer ICT-implementatie in het Funderend Onderwijs, trainer digiborden Promethean en Prowise Presenter en train de trainers. Inmiddels is zij ook een enthousiaste trainer van ICT tools en mediawijsheid niet alleen op Curaçao, maar ook op Aruba, Bonaire, Sint Maarten en Suriname.
Ansyadeth Balootje
Ansje werkt sinds 2000 als onderwijzeres. Sinds 2009 heeft ze als ICT-coördinator bij de Prins Bernhardschool gewerkt waar ze meegewerkt heeft aan de digitalisatie plan van de school, begeleiding en ondersteuning van de docenten en zich gespecialiseerd heeft op het gebied van remedial teaching te geven via ICT. Vanaf 2009 tot 2011 meegedaan aan het kennisnet ambassadeurstraject, het Grassroots- en Learning Circle project. Learning Circle coördinator (2015) en sinds 2016 trainer in STEM-education projecten; “Luna di Stima” en “Nos ta konektá” Sinds 2018 is zij ook werkzaam in het ICT-team voor ondersteuning van andere scholen.
Lysandro Inacio
Lysandro is an experienced entrepreneur who began his career in the IT industry and evolved into a business expert. He has dedicated the last years of his career sharing his experiences and testimonies about how he evolved from a loyal employee into an entrepreneur. He is passionate about personal growth and consciously invests in his pursuit for wisdom and understanding. He has mentored many aspiring entrepreneurs and continues to mentor professionals in their pursuit for purpose.

Lisette Rosini
Lisette is Informatie Specialist bij de Library and Research Services van de University of Curaçao en curator van de Dutch Caribbean Digital Platform (DCDP). De DCDP is gericht op het voltekst doorzoekbaar en toegankelijk maken van Antilliaanse publicaties en lokaal leermateriaal. Als curator van de DCDP is Lisette ook verantwoordelijk voor een correcte uitvoering van het auteursrecht en verzorgt zij de individuele licenties voor het online toegankelijk maken van de publicaties en het digitaal leermateriaal binnen het platform.
Irwin Korstjens
Irwin is manager van de Library and Research Services en gastdocent bij de University of Curaçao. Bij de Faculteit der Technische Wetenschappen doceert hij het vak Milieutechniek en aan de Faculteit der Sociale en Economische Wetenschappen verzorgt hij het vak 'Legal Environment of Information Technology’. Irwin heeft zich gespecialiseerd in auteursrecht vraagstukken binnen een digitale omgeving. In 2012 stond hij als uitvoerend projectmanager aan de basis van de constructie van de Dutch Caribbean Digital Platform (DCDP) waarin Antilliaanse publicaties integraal doorzoekbaar zijn en lokaal digitaal leermateriaal gedeeld kan worden..
Majid El-Hoss

The world is at the doorstep of the 4th industrial revolution. The past three industrial revolutions have planted and reinforced mechanization, automation and digitization as the main drivers for the success of any economic endeavor. With recent developments in AI, data analysis and IoT, the role of automated systems once more changes and further impacts the interplay of machines and humans in the workplace.
This presentation will present the 4 industrial revolutions, their drivers, and their impact on society in general and education specifically. It will then discuss the effect of automation on the workforce and review the skillset requirements of the future employee. In closing it will propose a core set of skills that will facilitate the integration of newcomers into the future workplace, and present a set of actions that the educational sector must take in order to remain relevant and engaged in preparing and producing a relevant, adaptive, and competent workforce.
