Leendert Pengel

Leendert Pengel is een alumnus van de UoC uit 1986, die daarna aan de TUe in 1992 is afgestudeerd in afstudeerrichting Informatietechniek, 6 jaar heeft gewerkt bij een lokaal ICT-bedrijf, en daarna bij de UoC is gestart als manager van de ICT-afdeling. Sinds augustus 2016 is hij manager van het Center for Digital Learning op de UoC. Zijn belangstelling is altijd uit gegaan naar het onderwijs en het overdragen van kennis. Hij heeft aan het begin gestaan van de ontwikkelingen van het aanbieden van onderwijs op afstand door de UoC, eerst door inzet van Skype, daarna met de professioneler inzet van Blackboard Collaborate, waardoor studenten op Aruba, Bonaire en Sint Maarten vanuit Curaçao van onderwijs voorzien konden worden. De vele ontwikkelingen op het gebied van onderwijs ondersteund met technologie en in het bijzonder met ICT, en de behoefte aan deze kennis bij vele docenten en leerkrachten, zijn zijn “drive” geweest om de overstap te maken van ICT naar een meer onderwijsgerelateerde functie binnen de nieuw opgezette afdeling Center for Digital Learning.

Pedro de Bruyckere

Werkzaam bij Arteveldehogeschool/Universiteit Leiden is als onderwijs-mythbuster wereldwijd bekend dankzij zijn in meerdere talen vertaalde boeken. Hij blogt dagelijks op XYofEinstein.be en TheEconomyOfmeaning.com. Bekende boeken van zijn hand zijn Jongens Zijn Slimmer dan Meisjes, Juffen zijn Toffer dan Meesters en Klaskit Over de keynote: Door Corona lijkt online leren in een stroomversnelling te zitten. Er zijn wel degelijk kansen, tegelijk zijn er ook mogelijke mythes die om de hoek kunnen loeren waardoor de meerwaarde van technologie teniet gedaan kan worden. In zijn keynote gaat Pedro De Bruyckere in op de indianenverhalen en de mogelijkheden van technologie bij leren.

Lysandra Capella

As a Banking professional with extensive cybersecurity expertise, Lysandra currently supports executive management with strategy formulation, security assurance and IT governance. Earlier, she oversaw Information Security Services at a Financial Institution. Her work experience includes software development, analytics, security operations, incident response, and forensic analysis.

Rodsandy Welvaart

Van jongs af heb ik een passie voor technologie en innovatie. Deze passie is doorgegroeid in mijn studie Media, Design & Technology aan de Saxion Hogescholen te Enschede. Mijn specialisatie is in Broadcasting. Voor de afgelopen 15 jaar heb ik ervaring opgedaan in broadcasting en videoproductie. Al ruim 9 jaar ben ik docent van o.a. CAV, Inromatica en Media. Ik heb gewerkt met leerlingen op alle niveaus, AGO, VSBO, SBO, HAVO en zelfs leerlingen die uit de reguliere onderwijssysteem zijn uitgevallen. Ik heb mezelf verdiept in hoe ik technologie kan gebruiken als hulpmiddel in mijn lessen zodat overdracht van kennis makkelijker wordt voor mij en dat de leerlingen zich betrokken voelen bij de les zodat zij motivatie ontwikkelen voor de lesstof. In deze tijden is het gebruik van technologie en creativiteit imperatief. Door onderzoek en ervaring heb ik praktische tricks en tips om te delen voor zowel docenten die techno enthousiast zijn of docenten die digibeet zijn en in simpele stapjes gebruik willen maken van technologie in hun lessen.

Johan Oldenboom

Johan Oldenboom (37) is a sociologist, specialized in urban sociology – security and criminology. Johan is also a part-time journalist specialized in human interest issues. From 2002 till 2015 he lived and studied in Holland. Since 2015 Johan is living in Curaçao. In Holland Johan worked as a journalist, as a project coordinator and as a policy advisor. He worked for the municipality of Rotterdam and The Hague and for the police department in Rotterdam.

Since 2015 Johan has been a lecturer and member of the academic staff of the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez, the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Furthermore Johan is socially active in several organizations. As a sociologist and lecturer, Johan believes in an education system that makes people conscious about their own potentials. Tessa van Zadelhoff van Empel

Tessa van Zadelhoff is ruim 25 jaar werkzaam in en voor het onderwijs. Als leraar, maar ook als beleidsmedewerker en zelfstandig ondernemer. Zij geeft presentaties en workshops rondom innovatie met en zonder ict in het onderwijs. Ook publiceert zij regelmatig in vakbladen en is ze met mede-initiatiefnemer van uitgeverij BoekTweePuntNul. Als projectleider is ze verantwoordelijk voor een aantal Ontdeklabs in funderend en voortgezet onderwijs waar leerlingen aan de slag gaan met onderzoeken, ontdekken en ondernemen rondom onderwerpen als science, 3D ontwerpen, programmeren en creativiteit. Reyna Joe

Reyna Joe is a life stylist and coach.

She started her professional career as a journalist and worked in Holland and in Curaçao in radio, TV and newspapers. In 1989 she started her business as a creative entrepreneur servicing many companies local and international with communication and strategic services. She is an international speaker, published author and organizer since 2004 of the Annual Female Leadership Conference in Curaçao. Kathy Taylor

Kathy Taylor is Professor Emerita of Spanish Literature and Linguistics of Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana and is also a musician and writer. She began her work with Papiamentu in 2001 and taught the language at Earlham College until 2015, often bringing students to Curacao. Although she has been retired since 2016, she continues her passion for languages and is currently working with Yunette Aniceta on reconstructing and improving a free online self-taught course she had developed for English speakers and Spanish speakers to learn Papiamentu.

Yunette Aniceta

Yunette rond de opleidingen Bachelor Bestuurlijke Informatiekunde en Techno MBA af bij de UoC, en verzorgt al meer dan 25 jaar ICT-gerelateerde colleges. Als manager van het bedrijf Information Solutions ontwikkelt zij database- applicaties en verzorgt gepersonaliseerde IT-cursussen voor bedrijven. Ze leidt verschillende digitaliseringsprojecten en zet op een digitale bibliotheek voor de UoC (http://DCDP.uoc.cw) en CBS (http://digitallibrary.cbs.cw). Momenteel verzorgt zij modules voor het ontwikkelen van krachtige digitale (blended) leeromgevingen, en leidt zij een pilot project bij de AF (gefinancierd door het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied), om op structurele wijze lokaal digitaal lesmateriaal op alle onderwijsniveaus van de eilanden te verzamelen/ontwikkelen (volgens de leerlijnen), en beschikbaar te stellen in een gebruikersvriendelijke digitale bibliotheek. Als IT consultant bij UoC en de SKAIH stimuleert zij het gebruik van elektronische leeromgevingen en Blended/Distance Learning.

Ansyadeth Balootje

Ansje werkt sinds 2000 als onderwijzeres. Sinds 2009 heeft ze als ICT-coördinator bij de Prins Bernhardschool gewerkt waar ze meegewerkt heeft aan de digitalisatie plan van de school, begeleiding en ondersteuning van de docenten en zich gespecialiseerd heeft op het gebied van remedial teaching te geven via ICT. Vanaf 2009 tot 2011 meegedaan aan het kennisnet ambassadeurstraject, het Grassroots- en Learning Circle project. Learning Circle coördinator (2015) en sinds 2016 trainer in STEM-education projecten; “Luna di Stima” en “Nos ta konektá” Sinds 2018 is zij ook werkzaam in het ICT-team voor ondersteuning van andere scholen.

Rosemarijn de Jong

Rosemarijn de Jong is geboren op Aruba, heeft een deel van haar jeugd op Bonaire doorgebracht en woont sinds 2014 weer op het eiland. Ze is sinds 2011 werkzaam in het hoger onderwijs, eerst bij de Haagse Hogeschool en daarna bij de UoC. In augustus 2016 is bij de UoC op Bonaire de Blended LOFO (Lerarenopleiding Funderend Onderwijs) gestart waarvan zij coördinator is. Zij stuurt het gehele proces van blended maken van het reguliere onderwijsprogramma aan, en geeft daarbij ook trainingen aan docenten en studenten over blended onderwijs en gebruik van Blackboard.

Irwin Korstjens

Irwin is manager van de Library and Research Services en gastdocent bij de University of Curaçao. Bij de Faculteit der Technische Wetenschappen doceert hij het vak Milieutechniek en aan de Faculteit der Sociale en Economische Wetenschappen verzorgt hij het vak 'Legal Environment of Information Technology’. Irwin heeft zich gespecialiseerd in auteursrecht vraagstukken binnen een digitale omgeving. In 2012 stond hij als uitvoerend projectmanager aan de basis van de constructie van de Dutch Caribbean Digital Platform (DCDP) waarin Antilliaanse publicaties integraal doorzoekbaar zijn en lokaal digitaal leermateriaal gedeeld kan worden.

Marco-Antonio La Cruz

Marco-Antonio La Cruz MBA CPA CMA CISA CGMA is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics at University of Curacao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez. He has over seven years of full-time combined teaching experience at the Bachelor and Master levels. Before joining academia, he had over 24 years of combined experience in public accounting and controllership in the banking, tourism, oil refining and postal service industries.

Bonnie Benesh

Jacqueline Kleijer

Jacqueline Kleijer ging naar de kunstacademie en is opgeleid als jeugdhulpverlener (geregistreerd in de kamer van Jeugdzorgwerkers BAMW). Ruim 15 jaar werkte ze als deskundige op het gebied van ‘afhankelijkheidsrelaties’ waaronder ook de (online) loverboy-problematiek valt. De afgelopen jaren werkte ze als therapeutisch hulpverlener voor meiden van 12 t/m 23 jaar bij Pretty Woman in Utrecht. Daar was Jacqueline een van de voortrekkers van de hulpverlening aan ouders. Jacqueline is zeer deskundig in het bespreekbaar maken van seks en seksualiteit met als aandachtspunt de verleiding (misleiding) via internet en online veiligheid. Ze heeft ervaring met grote (culturele) diversiteit. Ze neemt regelmatig deel aan expertgroepen, verzorgt bijeenkomsten voor deskundigheidsbevordering en schuift graag aan bij veiligheidsoverleggen op scholen. Haar visie is contextueel en systemisch; haar aanpak altijd associatief en creatief met een grote rol voor het verhaal.

Adolfo Roman

Adolfo Roman BSc. Is a subject matter expert in the fields of serious gaming, gamification and UX (with focus on user psychology). He has been designing (serious) games since 2010 and has successfully concepted, designed , directed and released multiple serious games and gamification solutions for a multitude of fields including, Banking, Logistics, Healthcare and Education among others. Adolfo holds a BSc from the Breda University in the Netherlands. He has experience with both online and offline games, both traditional and serious gaming as well virtual reality and augmented reality.

Irene Gould

Irene has lived for over 10 years in Curacao and 5 years in Bonaire. She studied “Onderwijskunde” at the Open University of the Netherlands while she was in Curaçao; at this time there was no online education. Her introduction to online learning was while living in New Zealand. There she created courses in LMS Moodle for teachers which facilitated them in online teaching. In Bonaire she was a teacher central to the initiation of blended learning for the University of Curaçao; she converted over 20 courses from face-2-face to blended. She is coauthor of the curriculum “Wereldwijzer” for elementary schools in Bonaire and is involved in developing the new curriculum for “Culture” in Bonaire. She is also a Spanish teacher and a librarian. Irene lives in Canada currently and has participated in many MOOCs.

Tinkersjòp is a small Science Centre that focuses on making children curious about STREAM related activities, where making mistakes in the process of exploring is the main goal.
